Packet - Day 5

  1. Read "Stars" and answer the questions.
  2. Do the "Lazy Lizard" and "I Love You!" pages like you did yesterday - reading the story 3 times before answering the questions.
  3. Complete the "Glued Sound" activity page by picking one of the glued sounds to put onto the first letter in order to make a good word. (Ex. h  +ang  =  hang)
  4. Glue sounds are letters that go together to help make words - almost like word family endings.
  5. Complete the "Four Years Ago" page by describing some things that you can do now that you could not do when you were four years old.
  6. Do the "Let's Make a Sentence!" page like before.
  7. Complete the owl picture by trying to draw the other half of the owl exactly like the one you see.  Remember how we folded the paper to make a heart.  We made it is that the two sides were exactly the same.  We want the owl to look alike on both sides.  This is called symmetry.  Don't worry if the owl picture is not perfect.  It is hard to do, but it is fun to try.
  8. Do the "Basic Addition" page as before.  Remember you are adding.  Your answer will be bigger than the number you started with.
  9. Complete the "Problem Solving Practice" page as you have done before.  Remember to draw a picture and answer all the questions.  Showing your work is very important.
